Die Queen samt Gefolge besucht die Filmpassage zum Kaffeeklatsch mit dem Film „Downton Abbey“
Dear Members and Friends
Hope everyone is looking forward to our annual FUN EVENT in connection with the premier viewing of the brand new Downton Abbey feature film.
The Deustch-Britische Gesellschaft Duisburg are free guests of honour at this viewing in our neighbouring city of Mülheim and will add to the surroundings and ambience with heaps of British flair and humour.
Please bring ample memorabilia and of course come in period costume if you feel the urge. If you do not, come anyway as we have masks of crurrent an past celebreties galore. The morer the merrier!
This is a charity event and we will be raising funds for the Hospiz Mülheim, an excellent cause.
Location Filmpassage Kino, 2nd Floor, Forum Shopping Centre, Mülheim.Date/TimeThursday, 19th December. Meeting at 13:00 hrs in the Foyer of the Cinema. Latest 13:30The attached press release gives some more detail:Press Release Downton Abbey (PDF)
Many thanks to Chreyl Meller who is arranging this and has sent us this note to confirm the following.
We have a changing room in the Foyer, with table and chairs, and bottles of water. Some of us will be arriving in their British Fun clothing/Downton Abbey Clothing, but a changing room is there for us at our disposal. The Queen and his Lady in Waiting, have of course, their own changing room. We are now there with 20 participants.
The film starts at 14:00, and runs for 2 hours, followed by coffee and cake provided by the Filmpassage. On top of that, cucumber sandwiches and Sekt have been donated by Edda and Rolf.
The Foyer will be decorated for us on our arrival, using our decorations. Tables will be laid and ready for coffee and cake after the film. The Filmpassage provides music equipment and microphone. Bob has a selection of appropriate music on a USB Stick. We also have a man in a kilt, playing the Bagpipes. Another highlight will be a „Knighting Ceremony“ carried out by our gracious Queen.
The „Mobiles Photostudio Schürmann“, Mülheim, will be taking photos and printing out, showing the Logo of the Filmpassage and the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft Duisburg. You get the photos to take home, FREE. I was able to arrange this with Herr and Frau Schurmann because we are collecting money for the MH Hospiz.
The Downton Abbey film is practically sold out. Anyone walking in on the 19th December would have to pay 7.50 Euro. We get in FREE.
We would like to start the Spendeaktion at our British Table, setting a good example. Lily and I will then go from table to table, with the Hospiz Spendebox. Please give generously, it is Christmas, and it is for a very good cause.
