And Now For Something Completely Different as Monty Python’s Flying Circus might put it
As discussed at our last meeting we are co-operating with Boris Roskothen to organise a British Game Night to be played bilingually in English and German.
Boris Roskothen, present-day owner of the well-known shop on Sonnenwall, is a true expert on all kinds of board games from Catan to Hitster Bingo. He told me how popular board games have recently become again making a comback with people young and old glad to get away from their devices and pc screens and play real games with real people. Roskothen’s motto is „die Kunst zu spielen“, i.e. the art of playing and it is the oldest shop in Duisburg having specialised in games and toys since 1879.
Roskothen can offer us drinks but not food. However, they suggest we bring our own nibbles „zum Knabbern“, crisps, savouries or small snacks/finger food. Please contact us if you have any ideas on this.
By all accounts, Roskothen and Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft Duisburg should make an excellent match with fun and games being close to British hearts. So please let us know if you are coming.
British Game Night on 12 September 2024, at 6.30 p.m.
It will take place in the shop:
Roskothen
Sonnenwall 38-42
47051 Duisburg
